PM Chairs 9th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog: Paving the Path for Viksit Bharat @2047

Why in news?

The ninth meeting of GCM of NITI Aayog was presided over by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi held at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, New Delhi. The meeting had Chief Ministers and Lt. Governors from 20 States and 6 Union Territories: the meeting spelt out that the effort of all 20 State Governments and corresponding 6 Union Territory Governments will be needed to turn the dream of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 into reality.

The Prime Minister called for the states to raise agricultural yield and output, and also enhance the crop and product diversification along with encouraging the natural farming processes. Governance and Capacity Building

The aspects of good governance and law and order were noted to be essentials for investments. He also asked the states to work with the Capacity Building Commission to upgrade the skills of Government employees at all tiers.

In the conference, different chief ministers & Lt. Governors of different states discussed their respective states’ success story and recommendations in different fields including agriculture, education, skills & enterprise development, and women emancipation, digitization etc. These contributions are meant towards fulfilling the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 which is the development vision of India.
